Cubic boron nitride (CBN) grinding wheels are suitable for processing products made of various materials: ① high manganese steel; ② High chromium, nickel, and molybdenum alloy steel; ③ Cold hard cast iron (HS80-90); ④ Various types of hardened steel (HRC55-65); ⑤ Various types of cast iron (HB200-400) have been processed in domestic automobiles (gears, flywheels, shafts, bearings, etc.), rollers, slurry pumps (impellers, volutes, protective plates, sheaths, etc.), molds, and cylinder liners; ⑥ High hardness soft and tough materials such as glass and gemstones have solved the cutting and processing of high hardness and difficult to machine materials in various industries, and can improve work efficiency, greatly saving processing hours and electricity, and achieving huge economic benefits.
Cubic boron nitride is not suitable for grinding hard alloys and non-metallic hard materials. At high grinding temperatures, CBN will undergo chemical reactions when encountering alkaline aqueous solutions. CBN grinding wheels will decompose in an alkaline solution at 300 ℃, and can decompose in trace amounts in boiling water. As a result, the crystal shape of the abrasive particles will be damaged. Therefore, when grinding, only oil-based coolant can be used, not water-based coolant.
